so, for what it’s worth, I was doing, um…internet research…about Zooey Deschanel, and saw a claim that she writes all the music in she and him and M. Ward just produces. A quick check with allmusic confirms this, and my heart does blossom ever further for the 1:1 face/bangs ratio.
Ben Gibbard marrying Zoey Deschanel made him our Neil Armstrong (we being pale, awkward sad-sacks) ,it was the highest any of us had ever been, and a testament to what was possible.
Zoey divorved Ben from Death Cab, and now I’m not sure if the take-away is “oh, I guess it’s not possible after all” or “that works so long as you don’t become as shitty as death cab did.”
